Agreement to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Hashim Rafiq, trading as GupShup (“we”, “us”), covering your use of the GupShup app and related services. By using GupShup, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

The service

GupShup helps you learn everyday Urdu with lessons, practice, stories and progress tracking. Some content is free and some needs GupShup Premium.

Subscriptions and billing

  • GupShup Premium is an optional, auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. If your plan includes a free trial, you’re charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You’re responsible for keeping access to that account secure and for activity on your GupShup account.

Acceptable use

You may use GupShup for your own personal learning. You agree not to copy, redistribute or sell GupShup content, reverse engineer the app, use bots or automated tools to access it, or interfere with how the service works.

Intellectual property

GupShup, including its lessons, audio, images, design and software, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for learning.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these terms.

Availability

We work to keep GupShup running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, pause or remove features, including for maintenance.

Ending your use

You can stop using GupShup and delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or close accounts involved in fraud, misuse or breaking these terms.

Disclaimers

GupShup is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post changes on this page and update the date at the top. If you keep using GupShup after a change, you accept the updated terms.
